The Scranton Escape relied on the hitting of first baseman Jeremy Bassett to stop the Astoria Argonauts, 6-3. For the game, Bassett went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Scranton reliever Le-song Kao was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Rhys Ballard. The win puts the Escape at 63-66, while the Argonauts drop to 59-71.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Scranton got a break when Bassett went to the plate. With two outs, runners on 1st and 2nd and the Escape leading 2-1, Bassett hit a 3-run home run.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Bassett said.
