Raiders Topple Racers with Late Rally

In a low-scoring tilt between the Reno Raiders and the Bowling Green Racers, Jorge Mota was the difference-maker. The Reno right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 win. Mei-shan Huang got credit for the save for Reno. It was his 30th of the year. The 'W' lifts Reno's record to 66-64.
Neither team could produce runs. So, Matsudaira Sato's at-bat in the top of the eighth was critical. With no one out, the Reno pinch hitter hit a solo home run, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Sato told the Reno News. "You win just by scoring more runs."
