The Reno Raiders got a superb performance from pitcher Théophile Richard, but the Albuquerque Cacti still won the game, 5-1. Richard was named the player of the game despite the loss. This game went down to the wire. In the top of the tenth, Floyd McAuley had a big at-bat. With one out, the Albuquerque first baseman hit a run-scoring single, to put his team up, 2-1.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," McAuley told the Albuquerque Observer.
