Conditions were not ideal but Joplin and Silver Lake were able to put their game in the books.

The Joplin Fireballs scored a 4-3 win versus the Silver Lake Baristas at The Firepit. Joplin pitcher Evan Charnley nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Charnley went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-4. Tomoyuki Kiyomizu finished the game for Joplin and earned his 24th save.

Carlos Molina was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Joplin. In a tie game with two out in the bottom of the seventh, Molina came through with a run-scoring double. It put the Fireballs in front, 4-3.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Silver Lake skipper José Alonzo.

The win puts the Fireballs at 55-74, while the Baristas drop to 48-82.
