Raiders Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The House of Pain faithful were treated to a dramatic, walk-off win.
In a low-scoring affair between the Reno Raiders and the Albuquerque Cacti, pitcher Andrew Green was the difference between victory and defeat. The Reno left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 Raiders win. Mei-shan Huang picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-6. Britt Diaz was tagged with the loss.
Late in the game, third baseman Jim Unknown had a big at-bat for Reno. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single off Britt Diaz. The play gave the Raiders a 3-2 lead.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Chris Brading, the Reno skipper.
Reno has a 3-game win streak, while Albuquerque has lost 3 in a row.
