The Pasadena Bumblebees knocked off the Scranton Escape, 7-4, at The Hole. Tin-jong Yi, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Pasadena won. The second baseman went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Reliever Gilberto Chávez picked up the win. His record improves to 5-8. Thomas Wright took the loss. The 5th-place Escape have dropped 5 straight games.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Roberto Santiso, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 5-4, Pasadena, and helped them go on to win.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Julián Cancil. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
