Minneapolis starter Andrew Johnson pitched effectively against the Fairfield Flash at The Ice Box. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. Minneapolis reliever Rodolfo Reyes was the winner. His record is now 6-0. Pat Bertram took the loss. Les van Kleef picked up the save, his 4th.

Minneapolis took a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out, pinch hitter Jong-bum Lee hit a 3-run home run that fired up the crowd.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Johnson. "Successful pitchers do it."

Minneapolis improves to 71-55 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
