The Omaha Raptors got a stellar effort from pitcher Michael Walsh, helping Omaha score a 3-1 win over the visiting Joplin Fireballs. Walsh picked up the win for Omaha, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 7-12. Picking up the save was Jason Engel, his 23rd.

Kenny Butler had a chance to do some damage in the top of the ninth. With Joplin trailing 3-0, Joplin had runners on 2nd and 3rd. Butler grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough. Joplin would not finish the comeback.
