Mustangs Suffer 4-2 Loss to Caterpillars
|
The Peoria Caterpillars topped the Billings Mustangs, 4-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Excavatar Park. The player of the game was Peoria right fielder Danny Sanchez. Francisco Zúñiga picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 8 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 13-6. John Now recorded the save for Peoria, his 4th of the season.
Sanchez brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the sixth, when the 25-year old left fielder ripped a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put Peoria ahead, 3-0.
"You can't take yourself too seriously," Sanchez told the Peoria Bulletin. "But at the end of the day, we do play to win ballgames."
The Caterpillars, at 61-65, sit in third place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
