Extra-Inning Win by Pioneers over Stogies
The Havana Stogies got a sterling performance from pitcher Diego Santiago, but the Pioneers still prevailed, 5-4. Santiago was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win was Mitsuharu Shionoya's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Son Mai took the loss for Havana. Losses have been few and far between for the Stogies so far this season. Their record drops to 19-10.

The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the 16th. On a pitch from Son Mai, Patrick Brunet hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Vancouver the 5-4 walk-off win.

Brunet said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
