The Minneapolis Freeze picked up a win at The Ice Box, knocking off the Detroit Death Stars, 6-3. Starting pitcher Andrew Johnson, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Mitsuharu Nakashima recorded the save for Minneapolis, his 9th of the season. Minneapolis has now won 3 straight, while the Death Stars have lost 3 in a row.

In the top of the fifth, the Freeze, who led 6-3, were in trouble. Detroit had runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Tsurayuki Hasegawa was at the plate. On a 0-1 slider from Andrew Johnson, Hasegawa hit into a double play.
