The Scranton Escape defeated the Fairfield Flash, 9-7, at Hell Stadium. Scranton shortstop Monzaemon Yamamoto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Escape raised their record to 59-59.

The Flash had been locked in a 7-7 tie with the Escape going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder David Jacobson came to the plate. Jacobson hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Fairfield hurler Carlos Martínez. It was Jacobson's 5th double of the year.

"We got the victory," said Jacobson. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
