Tight Tilt Goes to Phantoms, 4-3
|
In a tight contest at Stars Field, the Coronado Phantoms edged the Indian Wells Aeropostales by the score of 4-3. Coronado left fielder Andy Sabean, who blasted 2 home runs, was named the player of the game. You-liang Rang earned the win to go to 7-4. He allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Kawanari Uchida got the save, the 9th for him this season.
Late-game drama came in the top of the eighth inning. With two out and the bases empty, the batter, Andy Sabean, hit a solo home run. It helped Coronado seize the win.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Sabean.
The Phantoms saw their win-loss record go to 61-59. At the same time, the Aeropostales fell to 59-62.
