Minneapolis Freeze starter Jorge Olivo was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Reno Raiders, 6-5. Olivo picked up the win for Minneapolis, going 5.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. Minneapolis is now 65-53, 5˝ games up in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
The Freeze got a big boost from shortstop Mike Parlato who had a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth inning off Raiders hurler José Lara. It was his 29th walk of the season and put Minneapolis on top, 2-1.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Olivo. "Successful pitchers do it."
