|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales defeated the Coronado Phantoms, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Chandler Eckard, who was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk. The last-place Aeropostales now have a win-loss record of 59-61.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Indian Wells trailing 4-3, Craig Hilton hit a fastball from Kawanari Uchida to right for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Aeropostales had a walk-off win.
Eckard said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
