Death Stars Knock Off Fireballs, 5-3
|
The Detroit Death Stars picked up a win at The Death Star, knocking off the Joplin Fireballs, 5-3. Starting pitcher Bill Piner played a key role in the triumph. The 'W' lifts Detroit's record to 58-61.
Early in the game, left fielder Alex Munoz had a bases-clearing triple for Detroit. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Death Stars on top, 3-0.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Munoz.
