Raiders Roll to 9-3 Win Over Bumblebees
|
Kichisaburo Tanaka helped his team muscle past the Pasadena Bumblebees, 9-3. In the game, the Reno right fielder was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jorge Mota got the win, improving to 4-2. He held the Bumblebees to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4. With the victory, the Raiders record now stands at 59-58.
The Raiders used some clutch hitting to beat the Bumblebees, a good example being the at-bat of Gary Carter in the top of the first. With two down, Carter gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run home run.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Tanaka told the Reno News.
