Big Day by Marcovicci Ignites Phantoms Win
The Coronado Phantoms topped the Vancouver Canadians, 9-6, with first baseman Giampaolo Marcovicci playing a big role. Marcovicci went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4 for the Phantoms in the win. Kawanari Uchida got the save, his 8th in 11 chances. The Phantoms now own a record of 60-57.

Marcovicci brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the third, when the 28-year old first baseman ripped a 3-run home run. The round-tripper put Coronado ahead, 3-2.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Marcovicci.
