Humphrey Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Chicago in Walk-Off Win
|
Chicago beat Scranton at The War Dome, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to second baseman Luis Chávez, who earned player of the game honors. He was 1-2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever Nobuharu Fujita was credited with the win, to go to 2-4. Máximo Larreta took the loss for Scranton. Chicago now owns a record of 62-53.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Chicago trailing 5-4, Eric Humphrey hit a sinker from Máximo Larreta to right for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Titans had a walk-off win.
"We found a way to get it done," Humphrey said.
