|
Silver Lake pitcher Javier Vargas gave the Racers all they could handle, but in the end, Bowling Green left Top of the Hill with a 8-4 win. Vargas allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 5.2 innings. Kyung-hwan Ho closed it out for his 3rd save. The Baristas have now dropped 5 straight.
The Racers grabbed the lead in the bottom of the second. With no one out, Paul Rice, who is tied for 8th in the NAL with a .524 slugging percentage, hit a 3-run home run off Van Perry, putting Bowling Green in front, 7-2. For Rice, it was his 18th home run of the season.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager José Alonzo. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
