The Philadelphia Freedom beat the Billings Mustangs, 8-5, at The Bell. Philadelphia first baseman Jang-lu Xiang earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Philadelphia has 3 straight wins, Billings 3 straight losses.
The Freedom got a big boost from catcher Kitaw Malecela who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning off Mustangs hurler David Duarte. It was his 9th RBI of the season and put Philadelphia on top, 5-4.
