Fairfield Flash starter Yeong-suk Kim turned in a workmanlike performance against the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball in the 6-5 win. Ralph Petersen picked up the save for Fairfield, his 8th of the year. Fairfield leads the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division by 5 games.

The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Fairfield right fielder Gabriel Gómez. In the top of the 11th inning, with two out and a runner on 3rd, Gómez drew a walk to help Fairfield seize the win.

"It was a test of wills," said Gary Altman, the Fairfield skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
