Coal Miners Win Another One
The first-place Antioch Coal Miners took on the Minneapolis Freeze at The Coal Mine.

The Antioch Coal Miners stopped the Minneapolis Freeze, 8-2, at The Coal Mine. The Coal Miners got a big game from Jorge Sandoval, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Manuel Sánchez nailed down his 3rd save.

There were several reasons the Coal Miners beat the Freeze, but one factor was Jun Ogura. In the bottom of the sixth, the Antioch catcher came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 4-2 lead.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Ogura said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
