The Peoria Caterpillars knocked off the Detroit Death Stars, 7-2, at Excavatar Park. Yeijiro Sato, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Peoria won. The catcher went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs. Francisco Zúñiga got the win, improving to 11-6. He held the Death Stars to 2 earned runs on 2 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 6. Peoria now has a 3-game win streak.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Motoyuki Taniguchi went deep for the Caterpillars. With Peoria leading 3-2, he drilled a 2-run home run.
