Peoria used a superb performance from starting pitcher Jim Obershaw to down the Minneapolis Freeze, 4-1. In 7 innings, Obershaw surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The Caterpillars raised their record to 51-59.

In the top of the sixth inning, catcher Yeijiro Sato delivered a key hit for the Caterpillars. With Peoria leading 1-0, he ripped a 3-run home run.
