The Billings Mustangs got a strong performance from pitcher David Duarte, who stymied the Pasadena offense en route to a 4-2 win at Cobb Field. The winning pitcher was Duarte, now 1-0. He tossed 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. John Otten was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Also having an impact was first baseman Way-ming Wang, who stroked a 2-run double in the bottom of the third for Billings. For the game, Wang went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
After the game, Billings manager Greg Morgan applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The Mustangs, at 52-57, sit in third place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
