The Portland Beavers got a strong performance from pitcher Jake Adkins, who stymied the Cabo San Lucas offense en route to a 5-1 win at Waterfront Park. The win moves Portland to a record of 13-15.

Portland grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Teruo Sato delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Beavers.

"Anytime we get it going, it puts a smile on my face," said Adkins.
