The Chicago Titans and starting pitcher Yoshida Yamamoto stifled the Indian Wells offense en route to a comfortable 8-1 win at The War Dome. In 7.1 innings, Yamamoto surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.

Denzel Drewry took Takeji Ogawa deep with one out in the bottom of the second. On a full count fastball, Drewry drilled a 2-run home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put Chicago on top, 2-0.

"I thought we were prepared," Indian Wells manager Mario Perez said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."

Indian Wells now has a 5-game losing streak.
