|
Coronado beat Fairfield on the strength of starter Pedro Alejo's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. Alejo, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 earned run. Kawanari Uchida converted his 5th save in 7 tries.
Germano Lamorr helped out the Coronado cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the right fielder went 2-3 with 2 singles.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Fairfield manager Gary Altman. "The effort was great."
Coronado is now 53-51.
