Jason Walker pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Acapulco Banditos, despite Walker's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Albuquerque Cacti at Underdogs Ballpark. Todd Anderson picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-3. Jason Walker was tagged with the loss. Hisataro Sato was credited with the save for Albuquerque, his 28th of the season.
Albuquerque took control in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Shigochiyo Sato hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Cacti.
Afterward, Cacti manager Lou Hampton was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
Albuquerque is now 53-49.
