Raiders Topple Mustangs as Carter Shines
|
The Reno Raiders bested the Billings Mustangs by a score of 8-6, with catcher Gary Carter getting the main credit. On the day, Carter hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5 for the Raiders. The winner was Matsuyo Sanu in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jon Keyte took the loss. Reno is now 50-53, Billings 49-56.
Carter had a key at-bat for Reno early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Reno an early 4-0 lead.
"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Carter told the Reno News.
