Yamaguchi Hits 2 home runs in Freedom Win
|
Philadelphia center fielder Kojuro Yamaguchi was a significant contributor in his team's 7-5 triumph over the Omaha Raptors. He was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for Philadelphia. Philadelphia reliever An-yi Fok picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Esteban Torres was collared with the loss. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Ian Burrell.
Yamaguchi contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Philadelphia in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Yamaguchi took a fastball from Michael Walsh and stroked the home run to right. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Freedom to leap in front, 4-3.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Philadelphia manager Dan Jones.
The 5th-place Raptors have dropped 4 straight games.
