Paczkis Walk It Off for 55th Win of Season
|
The Canton Paczkis topped the Minneapolis Freeze by the score of 3-2, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Noboru Kamada. Kamada went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Paczkis on the day. Canton reliever Atmananda Katragadda was credited with the win, to go to 6-0. Larry Greer took the loss for Minneapolis. The first-place Paczkis, at 55-48, now lead their division by 2 games.
Late in the game, pinch hitter Masakazu Ishikawa had a big at-bat for Canton. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single off Mitsuharu Nakashima. The play gave the Paczkis a 3-2 lead.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager John Justin.
