Albuquerque beat Detroit on the strength of starter James Crowe's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. Hisataro Sato earned his 26th save in 30 chances. The Cacti saw their record improve to 51-48.

With a runner on 1st and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning, third baseman Sergio Pérez delivered big for the Cacti. Albuquerque was leading 3-2 when he belted a 2-run home run.

"I thought we played a nice game," Pérez told the Albuquerque Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
