Freeze Win Again, Streak Now at 12
|
The Minneapolis Freeze downed the Coronado Phantoms, 9-5, at The Ice Box. The Freeze were led by Reece Wager, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. The save was credited to Kyoji Rin, his 2nd. Minneapolis is now 56-42, 7˝ games up in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
Minneapolis left fielder Danny Adolf contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 94th hit of the season and put the Freeze ahead, 4-1.
"Nervous? No," said Adolf. "It was my time to shine."
