The Fairfield Flash put together a convincing win at Golden Fleece Park, defeating the Astoria Argonauts, 11-2. Kevin Meyer was one of the hitting stars. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Fairfield. Gabriel Bernard, the winner, improved to 8-4. He held Astoria to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. The save went to Gabriel Fajardo, his 2nd this season.
A defensive miscue in the top of the third cost the Argonauts. With Fairfield leading 2-1, Hoshi Ishikawa reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. Fairfield ended up winning the ballgame.
Astoria manager Tony Allison called the blowout loss "a real dud."
