Banditos Win at Reno, 8-7
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Ennio Duccio, the Reno Raiders suffered a 8-7 loss to the Acapulco Banditos. Duccio went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Acapulco reliever Allen Blair, now 5-2. The loser was Diego Contreras. Lex Herrewijn recorded the save for Acapulco, his 25th of the season.
One significant plate appearance for Acapulco came with one out in the top of the seventh inning. Banditos shortstop Kai Jolliffe hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Acapulco go on to win.
"We found a way to get it done," Jolliffe said.
The third-place Banditos are now 51-46, the Raiders 46-52.
