Cats Come Up Short at Detroit
Al Bates could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Fort Worth Cats lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Detroit Death Stars at The Death Star. Armando Medina earned his 1st save in 1 chances. Detroit is now 49-48, Fort Worth 45-51.

The Death Stars got a lift from left fielder Alex Munoz who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning off Al Bates. It was his 15th RBI of the season and put Detroit in front, 3-2.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Munoz told the Detroit Citizen.
