Raiders Get One-Run Win at Detroit
In a tight contest at The Death Star, the Reno Raiders edged the Detroit Death Stars by the score of 8-7. Reno shortstop Nate Kemp, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Reno reliever José Lara was credited with the win, to go to 3-8. Raul Nunez took the loss for Detroit. The third-place Raiders lifted their record to 45-50.

The most important at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, Raul Nunez threw a first pitch fastball to Kemp, which he hit to left-center for a 3-run home run. It put Reno in front, 8-7.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Kemp, "but we got it done."
