Osburn Excels, But Cacti Win
|
The Vancouver Canadians and Albuquerque Cacti provided some drama at Albuquerque Sports Stadium.
The Vancouver Canadians got a sterling performance from catcher Steve Osburn, but the Cacti still prevailed, 7-6. Osburn was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winner was Huy Ba in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Daryl Harrison took the loss. Earning his 25th save of the year was Hisataro Sato.
Albuquerque took a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Kijuro Masuda hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Cacti fans to their feet.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Masuda.
Albuquerque has a 3-game win streak, while Vancouver has lost 3 in a row.
