Bombers Go Down to Defeat, 9-4
|
Astoria third baseman Andrew Aidan made his presence felt in the 9-4 Argonauts triumph over the Bronx Bombers. Aidan was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Astoria reliever Ramón Gómez picked up the win to move to 2-3. Pat Glass suffered the loss. At 45-50, Astoria is in 4th place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
Ebrahim Magsi's at-bat in the bottom of the second was significant for the Argonauts. Coming to the plate with a runner on 1st and Astoria leading 1-0, the second baseman hit a run-scoring single.
"There's still time to turn this season around," said Magsi.
