Raiders Fall Short at Detroit
|
In a tight contest at The Death Star, the Detroit Death Stars edged the Reno Raiders by the score of 6-5. Detroit shortstop Karl Fernandes, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The save went to Raul Nunez, his 25th this season. Detroit now has a 4-game win streak.
Kol-in-sen Pai had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the eighth for the Death Stars. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Detroit trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Pai, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
