The Albuquerque Cacti turned back the Vancouver Canadians, 6-5, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Joe Severns was named player of the game for his fine performance. Guillermo Luna provided some late-game heroics for Albuquerque. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a 1-2 fastball from Bob Johnston and propelled Albuquerque to a 6-5 lead.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Luna told the Albuquerque Observer.
