Cacti Rally For Late Win Over Aeropostales
|
The Cacti had to overcome a fine effort from Indian Wells pitcher Yeijiro Ishihara to grab a narrow 2-1 win at Stars Field. Ishihara went 7.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. The winner was Albuquerque reliever Tom Murchison, now 3-3. The loser was Kevin Spurr. Albuquerque now sits in 5th place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division at 46-47.
Scotti Scannell had a clutch at-bat with two out in the top of the ninth for the Cacti. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Albuquerque trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run double.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Scannell.
