With second baseman Norishige Iwamoto leading the charge, the Chicago Titans defeated the Fairfield Flash, 7-2, at The War Dome. Iwamoto went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Jason Hunter earned the save for Chicago, his 5th of the year. The Titans saw their win-loss record go to 52-44. At the same time, the Flash fell to 53-40.
Chicago shortstop Jaswant Ghosal made his contribution to the Titans cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. For the day, Ghosal was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Chicago manager Bill Riordan.
