Woo Lifts Titans to 6-0 Triumph
|
The Chicago Titans relied on the hitting of first baseman Ming-an Woo to stop the Bowling Green Racers, 6-0. For the game, Woo went 3 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Lorenzo Espinoza, the winner, improved to 10-3. He held Bowling Green to no earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Earning his 12th save for Chicago was Tsuneyo Kichikawa.
In the bottom of the first, Chicago center fielder Jason Trude had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Trude stroked a 2-run home run to right-center. It made the score 2-0, Chicago. For the game, he was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"I thought we played a nice game," Trude told the Chicago Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The Titans now have a record of 50-44.
