The So Cal Republic defeated the Quebec Armada, 11-8, in Roberto Clemente League action at House of the Republic. Jon Pittman received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran was 4 for 6 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Tanner Johnson got the win, improving to 2-3. He held the Armada to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Pin-zhen Au earned his 4th save in 6 tries.

Pittman had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Eduardo Marino, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Republic a 4-1 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Pittman.

"We played hard and won," said Pittman. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

With the loss, Quebec drops to 15-10.
