Billings beat Bronx in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Billings Mustangs beat the Bronx Bombers, 9-8, at Cobb Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder David Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Diego Castro, credited with the save, is now 21 for 28 in save opportunities.

Had Jorge Hernández not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Hernández hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the Mustangs.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Ramírez said. "We did a good job of that today."

Today's win puts Billings at 46-47, while Bronx falls to 34-55.
