The Albuquerque Cacti grabbed a 6-3 win over the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field. Albuquerque first baseman Floyd McAuley was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once to earn player of the game honors. The win was credited to Izumo Ikarashi in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Kuniyoshi Nishiyama took the loss. Jim Unknown picked up the save for Albuquerque, his 1st of the year.

The Albuquerque triumph was a team effort. Not least among the contributors was Shigochiyo Sato. In the top of the fourth, the Albuquerque second baseman hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 4-3 lead.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Sato.

At 44-45, the Cacti are currently 4th in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
