Mustangs Lose to Hornets, 3-1
|
The 2032 season began for the Mile High Mustangs with a loss to the Eureka Hornets at McNichols Stadium. The final score was 3-1. Eureka pitcher Mitsunari Kobayashi earned top player honors. Kobayashi picked up the win for Eureka, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Ashoka Pancholi closed the game out for Eureka, earning his 1st save.
The Hornets used some clutch hitting to beat the Mustangs, a good example being the at-bat of Dennis Mayne in the top of the fourth. With two down, Mayne gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Eureka manager Stephen Jackson.
